Bringing Out The Best In Every Child

Year 6 - Gallery

Year 6 had a great time on Maths WOW Day! We combined our knowledge of BODMAS and the 50 States of the USA. We also used our mental maths playing a variety of board games. Finally we costed out our own Zoo!

The Fire Service came to visit. The children listened really well to the firemen who came to speak and then created posters to show what they had learnt. In RE, the children have been using art to depict the Holy Trinity.

Year 6 are really enjoying their LCC topic of USA! As part of their WOW day, they made Native American dream catchers, created art inspired by Andy Warhol and tried American food. Then on Open Morning, they made American Flags using mixed media.

The photos below are from our Mayan Wow Day. The children really enjoyed making the loom!

Year 6 have designed and made totem poles as art of their LCC topic linked to America. What creative designs they came up with!

As a way to introduce their French lessons, Year 6 have been doing portraits of famous French individuals.

The children have created these fabulous portraits of William Shakespeare as a way of introducing them to their new English focus. I think you will agree that we have some very talented artists!

Below is a selection of photos from Y6 last half term. We have been looking at data handling, linked to world book day. We voted on our favourite books & constructed tally charts, pictograms, bar charts & pie charts to represent our data! We also did Mayan masks linked to our LCC topic!
