My name is Paul Muir and I have lived in Littleborough for over 29 years and three of my children attended Littleborough Community Primary School. In total I have been a governor for over 25 years and this is my second time as a governor at this school. I was vice chair and then chair of governors here last time and stayed as a governor for a number of years after my children left, I then became a governor at Hollingworth Academy until I resigned from their board last year. Even though I have no children attending the school I am fully committed to ensuring that every child that attends the school receives the best education they can, they enjoy themselves whilst at the school and leave fully prepared for the next step in their educational journey.

My name is Kate Aspin, I have lived in Littleborough for 17 years. Both my children have been to Littleborough Community Primary School and my youngest, Isaac is in Year 3. I have been a Primary School teacher, Deputy and Acting Head in Lancashire, Trafford and Calderdale and currently work at a University training Primary School teachers, so I am passionate about effective teaching and learning. I have been a member of the PTFA for a number of years. I believe that all children should have access to superb teaching, a great environment, stimulating lessons and to feel safe and included.

My name is John Hartley and I am an authority governor. I have lived in Littleborough all my life and I was educated at Littleborough High school. I have been a governor for the past four years and I am currently serving in my 5th year as a local councillor for the ward of Littleborough Lakeside in which the school is located. I am also employed in Littleborough at Fothergill Engineered Fabrics, where I run the knitting department and have worked for the company now for almost 27 years.
I am passionate about every child regardless of race or where they live. I also believe every child should receive an equal education and that they should be able to reach their full potential in a fun and safe place.

I have worked at Littleborough Community Primary School for 18 years and I am the Early Years lead, currently teaching in Nursery. Our aim in the Foundation Stage is to make sure every child has the best start we can give them through engaging, interactive experiences and quality teaching.
I have also been an Early Years moderator for the Local Authority for many years, supporting colleagues across the borough.

My name is Nick Andrews and I have recently joined the Governors to bring a community link. I have been a governor previously at primary schools in Oldham/ I am now retired, having worked in the field of regeneration and community development for over 30 years.
I have lived in Littleborough for 15 years and am a director of Moor end Development Trust Ltd, a local regeneration company and the focus at present is on saving Hare Hill House to create a community arts and enterprise centre for Littleborough. I am also a secretary of the Pennine Business and Tourism Forum, serving as a Trustee of the Littleborough Arts Festival and Littleborough Civic Trust. My goal at school is to ensure everyone in our community reaches their full potential, whilst our pupils become confident, self-reliant young people contributing to our community.

My name is Rachel Thorne and I am a co-opted governor. I have lived in Littleborough for 18 years. Now my 3 children have started at school I am delighted to be able to be a governor and support Littleborough Community Primary School. I have been a secondary school modern languages teacher for 17 years, where I was head of department and a specialist 6th form tutor. I am now in a position to offer the same commitment to our local school as I have to the schools that I have taught in. I strongly believe all children deserve the best we can give them in terms of teaching, knowledge and experiences. Littleborough Community Primary School is a school striving for excellence for all children and it really is a ‘community school’.
