The School Council and PSHCE
The school council has two members from each class from Year 2 to Year 6 and meets every fortnight.
This year the School Council has been involved in a number of projects.
Children In Need
In November they organised a bun sale to raise money for Children In Need
Anti-bullying
In November they also held an anti-bullying week, during which time the children of Littleborough Community Primary School wrote poems, designed posters and made badges to promote awareness. One of these badge designs was chosen by the Children's Society to be made into a badge and be sent out to schools throughout the area. We also had a non- uniform day to celebrate Blue Friday and we sold the national blue wrist bands in school. Some of the school council members went to Rochdale Town Hall to take part in the Children's Society Showcase and to show our work that we had done on anti-bullying. Due to the school's work on anti-bullying, Littleborough Community Primary School has been awarded The Princess Diana award for the second year running.

Healthy Tuck Shop
The school council now runs a Healthy Tuck Shop, which sells raisins, water, fresh fruit juices, breadsticks and fresh fruit

Tidy Cloakroom Award
They also check the school cloakrooms each day and at the end of the week present the Tidy Cloakroom Award to the class that has kept the tidiest cloakroom

Involvement in school proposals
The school has also had new toilets. The School Council chose the colour schemes and accessories for these toilets. The school council has also chosen markings and games for the new school playground.
Anti-bullying policy
Earlier this year the school council updated the school's anti-bullying policy.
Smoke free school
On 24th April the school officially became a smoke free school. This means that there is not to be any smoking in the building or on the school's premises. Posters have been placed around the school and parents have been informed.
Healthy School Status
The school was awarded the Healthy School Status in May 2004. The school has maintained this award and this year the school has focused on drug education. With respect to this work the Life Bus visited all classes in January.
Healthy Eating Week
From Wednesday 7th June until Wednesday 14th June we will be having a Healthy Eating week in school. This falls during National Smile Month. There will be a range of activities in school and dental talks for all classes.
