We love our WOW days at LCPS! This Is when the children have a day dedicated to their new LCC topic and do tasks to inspire and hook the children. Year 1’s WOW day was a safari day. Here are photos of them exploring animals that live in hot countries using paint and other materials.

Its been lovely to see what Year One have been up to this half term! They’ve been doing story writing, exploring hot and cold colours as part of their LCC topic and learning about the importance of Remembrance Day.

Recently Year 1 have been trying to answer the question: do plants have honey in the middle of their flowers and is that where the bees get their honey from? They have learnt the importance of repotting plants and how different plants grow in different ways.

This week Year 1 discovered picnics on their carpets but the food was missing. Using all the clues the children wrote their own stories based on what they had discovered!

Below is a selection of photos from Y1 last half term. The children wrote some amazing stories based on The 3 Little Pigs, they worked hard to partition numbers into tens & ones, & finally they used their creativity to create a piece of art inspired by Hunderwasser, an Austrian artist!
