Super SATs results above the local and national average.Charity of the year with the Co-op achieved by our Young Leaders.At the recent Rochdale Music Festival our bands won in all three categories- our Full band of 35 children aged 7-11, our Training band and our Ensemble Band (for more experienced players). We won the Musical theatre section with a superb rendition of two songs from Oliver! Our wind band did really well too.We are the overall year 6 winners of Springhill Athletics 2017.Winner of the Football League and local tournament.Our band was filmed by BBC for Cbeebies programme for broadcast in December.

My name is Robert Mitchell. I am currently the Chair of Governors at the school and have been a governor here for more than ten years. After a short spell in the army I worked in the NHS for nearly 40 years.

I have lived in Littleborough for 20 years and support the community spirit that is growing in our area. My goal at the school is to ensure that every child reaches their full potential during their time at the school and that they develop to become confident self-reliant young people by the time they move on to their secondary education.

My name is Jacqueline Mellor and I am currently in my 6th year of service as Governor. I live in Littleborough and enjoyed a full career in teaching, culminating in 16 years as a Primary School  Headteacher. I have enjoyed bringing my professional understanding and expertise to the role of Governor, and feel privileged to be part of a Governing Body committed to supporting the dedicated, hardworking team at Littleborough Community Primary School, and ultimately the children themselves at the heart of our School Community.

The Primary Years are the most formative. I remain passionate about a safe and happy environment where every child is valued and receives high quality teaching and challenging learning experiences, that enable them to flourish and reach their full potential.

My name is John Hartley and I am an authority governor. I have lived in Littleborough all my life and I was educated at Littleborough High school. I have been a governor for the past four years and I am currently serving in my 5th year as a local councillor for the ward of Littleborough Lakeside in which the school is located.  I am also employed in Littleborough at Fothergill Engineered Fabrics, where I run the knitting department and have worked for the company now for almost 27 years.

I am passionate about every child regardless of race or where they live. I also believe every child should receive an equal education and that they should be able to reach their full potential in a fun and safe place.

My name is Allan Milne and I am a parent governor and chair of the resources committee. I have three children who attend our amazing school, Olivia, Charlie and Harry.

I have worked in Further Education management for over 12 years, specialising in apprenticeship provision. I am passionate about children and young adults first and foremost enjoying and being safe in their education, but also gaining skills and knowledge that will eventually help them with successful careers or further study.

I have lived in Littleborough for fifteen years and I know we are so fortunate to have a great school, with exceptional facilities and amazing staff. As governors we must help maintain and improve this.

My name is Caroline Moss and I am a staff Governor at Littleborough Community Primary School. In my role as a Teaching Assistant I have worked at the school since 1994 and currently work in year 6. I also organise school trips and residentials, which I know from experience, provide extra breadth to the National Curriculum, giving a rounded education. I live in Littleborough and my three children all attended L.C.P.S. I firmly believe that our school is at the heart of the community providing local children with a safe, caring environment, in fantastic surroundings, in which they can grow to their full potential.

 My name is Jessica Pursglove and I recently became a staff Governor at Littleborough Community Primary School. I have worked at the school for 3 years and I currently teach Year Two.  I strongly believe that this school works hard in its commitment to ‘bring out the best in every child’ and that we offer a safe and stimulating working environment that allows children to reach their full potential.  I feel very fortunate to work at this amazing school and alongside our supportive and hardworking colleagues, who care about every child and provide the best education for our children.

My name is Kate Aspin, I have lived in Littleborough for 17 years. Both my children have been to Littleborough Community Primary School and my youngest, Isaac is in Year 3. I have been a Primary School teacher, Deputy and Acting Head in Lancashire, Trafford and Calderdale and currently work at a University training Primary School teachers, so I am passionate about effective teaching and learning.  I have been a member of the PTFA for a number of years.  I believe that all children should have access to superb teaching, a great environment, stimulating lessons and to feel safe and included.

My name is Dr Caroline Dorrington and I am currently in my sixth year of service. I am a Dental Surgeon and own a busy practice with my husband and brother-in-law. Both of my daughters have attended Littleborough Community Primary School, the youngest is now in her final year getting ready for high school in September. I have seen the school change in many ways for the better and am proud to have helped the governing body along the way. My husband and I grew up in Rochdale and both attended community schools in the borough. I feel passionately that the children of Littleborough should all have the potential to achieve their goals, with the help of knowledgeable and nurturing staff. Littleborough Community Primary School are blessed to have a fabulous team who all care about OUR children and want them to do their very best. I believe that Littleborough Community Primary School does 'bring out the best in every child'.
